Marionette
This marionette was created by Paul Anthony of Riegelsville, PA. (link) | A marionette is controlled by a puppeteer with strings. The name Marionette comes from the figure of Marion, or the Virgin Mary, in the passion plays. "Marionette" means "Little Mary". Long ago, in France, it was illegal to for an actor to play a divine character, so they used string puppets in their Passion Plays to represent them. |
